Re-Connecting Parent(s) And Adult Children
Relationships can become distant; let us help you reconcile your family relationships
We specialize in helping adult children and their parent(s) re-connect and rebuild their relationships. Relationships can become strained and distant for various reasons, resulting in tense conversations, stressful family gatherings, hurt feelings, and periods of silence and disconnection.
When you are looking to rebuild a distant or strained relationship, knowing where to start and how to navigate those delicate conversations can feel impossible. That’s where we come in—our relationship experts can help you and your family member(s) work through the issues that have separated you and guide you into new conversations that can promote understanding, healing, and reconciliation.
Living with Family Conflict Can Be Difficult
Life happens. Things are said. Offenses are given and taken. Relationships become distant. There are a thousand reasons why adult children and their parent(s) lose connection.
- Do you miss the closeness and connection you once felt?
- Do you want to really connect for the first time?
- Do you walk on eggshells around each other?
- Have you endured months or years of silence?
- Do you keep your conversations superficial in order to keep the peace?
- Are there things you would like to express but don’t know how?
- Is the relationship impacting the grandchildren?
- Are you afraid that time might be running out?
Often, it is hard to know where to begin, or even if greater connection or reconciliation is possible. Either way, the pain, frustration, and regret occupy your thoughts. None of us know how much time we have together and it’s true that not all relationships can be reconciled. But, for many, it’s possible. Rather than regretting the years that have been lost, contact us, and let’s see if we can help you obtain your hopes for the future.

What You Can Expect in Family Therapy to Re-Connect Parent(s) & Adult Children
The central focus of family therapy will be family sessions with at least one parent and one adult-child present, although early on it is likely that you and your parent/adult-child also will meet one-on-one with the therapist. - Areas of personal growth that are required to build a better relationship.
- Tools to help you manage yourself better when frustrated, sad, or triggered.
